That is correct; with the advent of the CloudSuite line of solutions, Infor OS V12 will take over as the foundation layer to ensure all Infor systems work seamlessly together.  The primary content of Infor OS V12 will be Federation Services, User Authentication, Ming.le, ION Grid, ION, ION API, Infor Document Management, and Encryption.  The Landmark Runtime Environment V11 content will be ION Grid with WebSphere Application Server (WAS) vertically scaled for Infor Process Automation, CloudSuite Financials, CloudSuite Supply Management and CloudSuite Human Capital Management.

How can this be good, you might ask?  Like many of us, I have been following the Infor solutions since the acquisition of Lawson in 2011, at that time launching the Infor10 line of products; primarily Lawson.  We all watched in wonderment as we were again faced with another technology upgrade with little help on revitalizing the applications.  Why?  In my opinion, at the time of the acquisition, the horse was way ahead of the cart and the cart required some attention…in comes Infor.

Fast forward to 2017…To my pleasant surprise, Infor absolutely deviated from a “die-on-the-vine” approach to the Lawson acquisition. They poured tens of thousands of product development hours into the CloudSuite applications, bringing us the back office stability of Lawson, but vastly improving our respective customers’ ability to collaborate across all applications, thus bringing us best in class solutions that will scale for the future.

Is this good?  This is very good.  Current legacy customers now have a horizon where the new applications come with a new upgrade path: Infor Migration Tools.  This set of tools will provide our legacy Lawson V9 & V10 customers to migrate/upgrade their data into CSF, CSM and HCM (aka V11).  This resonates back to the ‘super upgrades’ we had with V6/V7 and V7/V8. Your trusted partner will soon be able to guide you through the process of transforming your legacy Lawson data into the latest Infor technologies and applications.

So if you would like to be part of the upgrade process to V11, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.
