  • Angell's Agenda: Is The Cloud Debate Over?
I read an intriguing article recently by McKinsey & Co about the current state of IT. Their authors concluded that, "the cloud debate is over." I couldn’t agree more! In fact, my conversations with customers and prospects confirm this on a daily basis. What I’m experiencing is this: I don't know of a single corporate entity that doesn't have a hybrid cloud environment of some sort, with an eye on how to further leverage the economics, simplicity, and flexibility of the cloud consumption model.

  • Accelerating Meaningful Use With Cloud
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has hundreds of pages of new requirements and regulations which are placing demands on all healthcare providers — impacting facilities of different sizes in a variety of ways. Not only are advances being made in materials and connectivity capabilities, but hardware VC firms and incubators such as Bolt and Lemnos Labs are flipping the script on the traditional way of doing business—from seed funding to expensive tools and machinery to valuable time with hardware experts and innovators. • SAP Cloud for Analytics: Tilting at Windmills
Back in the early 2000s when I was running marketing at Business Objects, Gartner’s then-lead BI analyst, Howard Dresner (known as the father of BI and the person who named the category) started pushing a notion called enterprise performance management (EPM). Back then, EPM meant the unification of BI and planning/budgeting.
