Has anyone installed Soho 4 UX as a replacement to Rich Client?

Categorized as:

We currently only utilize Rich Client for a few heavy GHR users and our system admins. This is also where all of our IPAs live. There is no mention of IPAs in the notice. Just curious if anyone has already moved to this new version yet and how you connect to it and what it provides.

Issued: June 30, 2020
Summary
Effective January 31, 2021, the Infor Landmark Technology Runtime platform and Infor Landmark applications will no longer support the Infor Rich Client  Read more...component as a user interface for Infor Landmark business application screens.
The Infor Rich Client component as an Infor Landmark application user interface has been superseded by the Infor Landmark applications’ SoHo 4 UX web browser-based user experience.
Product Focus
Effective January 31, 2021, the following Infor products operating in all deployment models, Infor multi-tenant cloud, Infor single tenant cloud, and on-premises, will no longer support the Infor Rich Client user interface for viewing or updating Infor CloudSuite™ Financials & Supply Management (CSF) and Infor Global Human Resources (GHR) business application screens:
• Infor Landmark Technology Runtime 11.0 and 11.1 releases
• All Infor Human Capital Management (HCM) products, including Infor Global Human Resources and Infor Talent Management 11 release
• Infor CloudSuite Financials & Supply Management 11 release
The Infor Rich Client component can continue to be used for:

• Creating and managing application and security configurations
• Creating and managing security related setup: e.g. Role, Service, Actor and Identity
• Creating and managing embedded reports
• Advanced BusinessClassGroup and BusinessClassCompute setup
• Page and Form Personalization by administrators
Customer Action
Infor strongly recommends that Infor Landmark customers using the Infor Rich Client component as the Infor Landmark applications’ user interface switch to use the Infor Landmark applications’ SoHo 4 UX web browser-based user experience.

Hi Amy,
The SoHo 4 UX is the web interface that is accessed through Ming.le. Depending on your deployment (on-premise, single-tenant cloud, multi-tenant cloud) you may or may not be able to enable it. For multi-tenant customers, it can be enabled and provides a full HTML 5 / responsive design, well suited for mobile. Some of the newer features and application views being released (the trend I have seen Infor take with many screens) only function in this web interface.

IPA's  Read more...are accessible in this interface as well, just as in Rich Client. Process Server Administrator becomes another "role" (such as HR Generalist, Recruiter, etc) that a user can switch to and see the menus and screens associated with that role.

If your users are not yet familiar with the web interface in Ming.le, now would be a good time to have them starting getting familiar with it.

Hope that helps!

Is there a minimum version of Ming.le required? We are single-tenant and currently use MyGHR through Ming.le to reach some of the manager functions, but our heavy users still use Rich Client.

I believe the SoHo 4 UX web interface was available in the CU released in February of 2019, however, there have been significant changes & improvements over the past year and I wouldn't recommend turning it on unless you have a fairly recent Landmark & Application CU.

Thanks Jeremy - I just heard from our CSM that this is for version 11 users only - we're still on version 10, so apparently it doesn't apply to us. That would have been nice to know in the info Infor sent out.

I too would be interested in others comments on their philosphy regarding the supervisory hierarchy ....or what they would have done differently. ...BTW, in the webinar given by RPIC today - "Global HR Optimization — Be a High Performer", the presenter prompted some of those same ideas/possiblities when he discussed other ways to make use of Supervisor Types and Levels, and Job and Position Categorization to reflect an "administrative supervisory hierarchy" along side  Read more...or in parallel with a "task/project supervisory hierarchy". Show less...

There's a Business Class (Table with business logic) Supervisor where managers' information is created/updated/stored. You can create managers under other managers. The SupervisorChart Business Class (BC) is in sync with the Supervisor BC. This chart is a graphical representation of the hierarchy. You can create Positions from Jobs and assign managers from the Supervisor BC to the Positions. The Position info is related to the employees' WorkAssignment BC. If the employee Position changes ( Read more...Transfer, etc.) the relational rules sync this information and the Supervisor for the Position changes accordingly. This is a very simplistic way to describe these processes. If I have to come up with a way to determine Supervisors for workflows, notifications, etc., I would start with the employee's Position on the WorkAssigment BC, and get the Supervisor for the Position. In order to go up in that branch of the Supervisor tree you need the Field ParentSupervisor. This will allow you to move up until you get to the root. Hope this helps 😉 Show less...
