Here’s another Bails Technical Best Practices tip! What is the best practice for security during an implementation? At what point in testing should you be using the security roles you want in production? The simplest and best answer is to give the most restrictive security roles to users that they will need for their positions as early as possible in the testing cycles. One of the biggest complaints we’ve seen during a Go Live is that screens “look different” from their training. So when Go Live happens, instead of it being a wonderful day with a new system, the users panic because they don't see what they were used to seeing, and in a worse case scenario, they can’t access parts of the system they need to do their jobs! To prevent this kind of Go Live heartburn, Bails recommends giving users the most limited roles possible during all phases of testing, but at the very least during the last round of User Acceptance testing!
