Has anyone installed Soho 4 UX as a replacement to Rich Client?

Categorized as:

We currently only utilize Rich Client for a few heavy GHR users and our system admins. This is also where all of our IPAs live. There is no mention of IPAs in the notice. Just curious if anyone has already moved to this new version yet and how you connect to it and what it provides.

Issued: June 30, 2020
Summary
Effective January 31, 2021, the Infor Landmark Technology Runtime platform and Infor Landmark applications will no longer support the Infor Rich Client  Read more...component as a user interface for Infor Landmark business application screens.
The Infor Rich Client component as an Infor Landmark application user interface has been superseded by the Infor Landmark applications’ SoHo 4 UX web browser-based user experience.
Product Focus
Effective January 31, 2021, the following Infor products operating in all deployment models, Infor multi-tenant cloud, Infor single tenant cloud, and on-premises, will no longer support the Infor Rich Client user interface for viewing or updating Infor CloudSuite™ Financials & Supply Management (CSF) and Infor Global Human Resources (GHR) business application screens:
• Infor Landmark Technology Runtime 11.0 and 11.1 releases
• All Infor Human Capital Management (HCM) products, including Infor Global Human Resources and Infor Talent Management 11 release
• Infor CloudSuite Financials & Supply Management 11 release
The Infor Rich Client component can continue to be used for:

• Creating and managing application and security configurations
• Creating and managing security related setup: e.g. Role, Service, Actor and Identity
• Creating and managing embedded reports
• Advanced BusinessClassGroup and BusinessClassCompute setup
• Page and Form Personalization by administrators
Customer Action
Infor strongly recommends that Infor Landmark customers using the Infor Rich Client component as the Infor Landmark applications’ user interface switch to use the Infor Landmark applications’ SoHo 4 UX web browser-based user experience.

Hi Amy,
The SoHo 4 UX is the web interface that is accessed through Ming.le. Depending on your deployment (on-premise, single-tenant cloud, multi-tenant cloud) you may or may not be able to enable it. For multi-tenant customers, it can be enabled and provides a full HTML 5 / responsive design, well suited for mobile. Some of the newer features and application views being released (the trend I have seen Infor take with many screens) only function in this web interface.

IPA's  Read more...are accessible in this interface as well, just as in Rich Client. Process Server Administrator becomes another "role" (such as HR Generalist, Recruiter, etc) that a user can switch to and see the menus and screens associated with that role.

If your users are not yet familiar with the web interface in Ming.le, now would be a good time to have them starting getting familiar with it.

Hope that helps!

Is there a minimum version of Ming.le required? We are single-tenant and currently use MyGHR through Ming.le to reach some of the manager functions, but our heavy users still use Rich Client.

I believe the SoHo 4 UX web interface was available in the CU released in February of 2019, however, there have been significant changes & improvements over the past year and I wouldn't recommend turning it on unless you have a fairly recent Landmark & Application CU.

Thanks Jeremy - I just heard from our CSM that this is for version 11 users only - we're still on version 10, so apparently it doesn't apply to us. That would have been nice to know in the info Infor sent out.

Has anyone implemented a custom requisition approval workflow using IPA?

Categorized as:

We are in the discovery phase of a requisition approval project. Our stakeholders have requested a workflow that routes approvals based on Accounting Unit/Requisition Cost, with secondary specialty approvals for items like IT, Biomed, Facilities, etc. Has anyone implemented this type of flow? What type of database did you use for approver lookup (homegrown, Lawson, budget system, etc.)? How did you roll it out to your organization? Any information or advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Many organizations using IPA for requisition approval use IPA task and filter categories to store the approval matrix. Hi Crystal! This is a classic flow that many of our customers request to have written for their specific needs. Approvers come our of the Lawson database along with some of the approval limits of specialty approvers. We would be happy to assist you! My email is nate.lindall@velocitycloud.com or call me directly at ph. 612-333-9803.

We have that at MHS. Upon release, our reqs look at the location "type", the buyer, the source (inventory/punchout), dollar limits and approver setups. It also notes is there's a duplication in the approvers so it won't route to same approver twice but will "skip" a level if the approver is the same in both slots.

We have a lengthy requisition Process Flow. It checks activity, account category, accounting unit, account, approval amount, threshold levels, to name a few, before deciding which multiple Inbaskets to route the requisition. These requisitions include email approval options for those roles which are frequently away from an office computer. It was quite interesting when we had to provide enough information in an email, which would allow a user to make a proper decision.

Employee Giving Functionality

We have a Foundation department at our company and they manage employee donations to internal funds. We have donation campaigns where if employees want to, they can choose to donate money from their check or PTO to a campaign. My question - do any other companies use Lawson to allow employees to donate? If so, how do you capture the donation requests - via a custom form, IPA, Benefits? Thank you, Chris
